10 Dumb Mistakes That’ll Tank Your Image Business

These three mistakes are guaranteed to make your business look like it was built by someone who just woke up one day and decided to put a few pieces together.

No, this is not a joke. As a matter of fact, the number one mistake that can kill a business is taking a picture of a building at night. The reason? Because if you take a picture of a building at night you’re likely to get a good idea of how bright it is. You will also likely get a good idea of how many other buildings there are in the area.

The reason is that the light in the building will be too bright and will make it look like there are more buildings nearby. This is one case where the buildings are probably just a few yards away from each other. For a different example, you could look at a skyscraper, a building that is only really visible from above, and one that you can’t see from that angle without a camera. This is one of the best things about being a professional photographer.

One of the best ways to avoid being mistaken for a professional photographer is to avoid being one. Being “professional” is not a job title. It’s kind of like being a real estate agent or a real estate broker. Even the most successful of real estate agents and brokers are only in it for the money, not for the lifestyle. Being a professional photographer is really just about being one of the best at what you do.

Cameras are one of the most powerful tools in the photographer’s arsenal, and when you put them next to your lens you basically have a second lens. Because of this, it’s important to take care of them as if they’re the real thing.

While cameras are great for the job, they can also be quite a liability if you take the wrong technique and don't take the time to make it right. One of the most common mistakes I see photographers make is not taking the time to get the light right. Even though the camera can do great things, the light isn't always the best way to take pictures. Sometimes it's better to sit in a dark room until you see just how much light is around you.

Another reason to get the right light is if you’re shooting people with a flash, make sure that your flash is aimed well enough with the lens. The bigger the flash, the bigger the light. Try to find that perfect balance between the light and the image youre trying to achieve.

You never know what light is going to bounce off your walls or ceiling or windows; and if your camera isn't pointing straight at the subject, you'll end up with a bad shot. One of the easiest mistakes to make is shooting your subject directly into the sun. This is a common mistake that photographers make, and it can ruin your picture. It also makes your subject look silly, like a kid with a light bulb.

The sun is hard to block, and its light is hard to avoid. Even with a great camera, you won't know how to position it or shoot it at the right angle. For this reason, many photographers will position the sun at the same spot on the horizon each time, and keep the camera in the same exact position.

The only problem with this method is you just can't do it consistently. You can always move the camera, but chances are you will end up shooting a bunch of subjects into the sun at one time. This is the biggest problem with this method.
