Lifestyle Pharm on a Budget? It's Not as Hard as You Think

I’m always looking for ways to save money. The more I learn about lifestyle medicine, the more I realize that it’s much more than a luxury that we can easily afford. We can live in harmony with our bodies and the people we love and live well-balanced lives. You don’t need to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on medical treatments just for your body to work right.

I was going to say my answer to this question would have been more like, “I’d rather be a person with a healthy lifestyle,” but I’m not sure how that would be received. I’m not much of a “lifestyle” person, and I wouldn’t want to be.

You have a few questions for a person with a healthy lifestyle, and those are two of the main questions that I would like to have answered.

All the rest is simple math.

That’s right, the other thing that I don’t like about myself is that I am not very good at math. I’m not even really good at math, so how can I possibly get all these answers? I would like to be able to find answers quickly and without any errors. I would like to be able to find a solution quickly. I would like to be able to find a solution that works.

You need to be asking yourself those two questions every day, plus another one that you probably don't think about every day, but you probably should.

This one is really easy. How much do you spend on food? I mean, what does that really mean? How much do you spend on clothes? How much do you spend on entertainment? That all sounds like a lot of money.

Well, that's what you think, but you don't really know. You're just thinking about it in the abstract. What you really spend on in your life is more like what you spend on the things you love. If you can't figure out how much you spend on something, then you can't really measure your success. If you can't figure out how much you spend on your hobbies, then you can't really measure your success.

The way to measure your success is to look at how much time you spend in activities that actually matter.

What actually matters are not what you spend money on, but what you spend time in activities that actually matter. If you spend a ton of money on restaurants (and spend a ton of real money on food) but you don't really spend any time sitting in restaurants, then you don't really have a successful lifestyle.
