Don't Fall Prey to These Common Connect Scams

Scams

It's tempting to fall prey to these common scams and make the same mistakes over and over again. I know this is because there are so many people out there who fall for these scams. While these scams may look like common scams, they are in reality very dangerous.

For example, I’ve been approached by people who insist on being my customer or at least a customer in the same way a common scammer will try to take over your company.

They may even want to buy my product, but they never get around to doing it. The best way to avoid these kinds of scams is to be proactive and learn how to respond in a way that is both courteous and reliable.

I’ve been approached by people who feel they can pay me to take them on a tour of my house and do something for them. I can also be approached by people who want to talk to me about “a job” or “a project”, when that’s not really a job or project.

Of course, this is all very new territory for us, so the best way to avoid falling prey to scams is to be proactive. Even if you feel like you've been a victim, be on the lookout for ways to protect yourself. We've worked with a lot of companies in the past year that was just recently hacked, and while it's a bad time to be in business, you can always take a number of precautions to prevent identity theft.

It seems like its pretty easy to fall prey to scams.

If you’re not careful about how you talk to people, you can easily end up being talked into a job you’re not really interested in, or into a project you don’t want to do.

Scams

Connect scams have become so prevalent that the United States Department of Health and Human Services has launched a website called FraudFreeConnect to combat them.

In the past, people would visit the site and see fake testimonials and endorsements from people saying they had used the services, but now they're actually just lying. The Department also has a fraud hot line, and there are even a few sites that offer advice on how to avoid getting scammed.

The site also features tips on how to avoid internet fraud without giving a fake company a business card or address. There are also links to websites that provide tips on how to avoid getting scammed.
